Galvanizing / Zinc plating
A speciality of thermal galvanizing of steel
Galvanizing/zinc plating is a method that uses immersion to coat an object with a layer of metal. This method can be used to apply a protective layer to iron plates, giving them a brighter surface or making them corrosion-resistant for up to 25 to 30 years.
Hot-dip galvanizing steel (according to NEN-EN-ISO-1461) is a specialty. While this process is an extension of degreasing, pickling, and fluxing, it is handled separately by our long-term partner.
Galvanizing takes place in a zinc bath with liquid zinc at 450°C. All materials are thoroughly inspected according to strict regulations before being delivered to us. We then perform a final inspection.
The process of galvanizing / zinc plating
In order to successfully zinc-coat the object, the material must be cleaned and degreased, and sometimes even blasted first.
